The objective of this paper to identified and analysis of motivation of exchange  that in bajapuik marriage in Pariaman society. The reseach is being done based qualitative and quantitative approaches, with data collection method is carried out through questionnere, depth interview, participant observation. The study showed that motivated Pariaman society used bajapuik marriage occurs based on value intrinsic and extrinsic that include between both family namely bridegroom’s and bride’s gils family.
